Vaginoplasty is generally considered a cosmetic procedure, so insurance companies generally do not cover cosmetic procedures.

Vaginoplasty surgery can be performed under general anesthesia, epidural-spinal anesthesia, or local anesthesia. The kind of anesthesia used depends on the patient's health condition.

It is not recommended to have sexual activity directly after the vaginoplasty. After the procedure you should avoid sexual activities at least 6 weeks until the vagina is healed.

When the vaginoplasty surgery is not performed by an experienced surgeon and in a trusted clinic, risks may include infection, excessive tightening, formation of fistulas, bleeding, scarring, changes in sensation, and unsatisfactory outcomes.
